According to reports from the Rejaishahr prison, in the Tehran suburb of Karadj, activist and political prisoner, Mehrdad Lohrasbi who was arrested during the July 1999 student uprisings and has been in prison since, is in desparate need of medical treatment and should have been granted a medical furlough.
The judiciary had made such furlough impossible by setting an extremely heavy bail, knowing that his family would be unable to meet the required sum. Finally, recently his family was able to pledge the amount that met with the approval of the judiciary’s officials however a member of the revolutionary court by the name of Alizadeh has decided to block the young man’s release to his family and is prohibiting him from receiving the desparately-needed medical care.
Alizadeh is the chief of the Islamic regime’s judiciary bureau in Tehran and known for his violent temper, intimidation tactics and insults on prisoners and their families.
